About Us

Nacmias Auto Sales and Service is a family-owned and operated business with proud roots in the New York automotive world since 1969. With two locations — Nacmias and Sons Super Service on State Road in Breezy Point and Nacmias Service Center at 619 Coney Island Avenue in Brooklyn — we offer full-service automotive repair, oil changes, bodywork, 24-hour towing, roadside assistance, and used car sales.

Our journey began with Jack Nacmias, who found his calling in cars as a teenager. By 16, he was working at the Mobil station on Avenue I and Coney Island Avenue, and by 18, he had earned a position as a full-time mechanic at the Artwin Plymouth Chrysler dealership. His brother, Rich Nacmias, joined him soon after. The two started fixing cars in their father’s driveway on East 9th Street in Brooklyn, turning a shared passion — especially for muscle cars — into a growing business.

During the late 1970s and early 1980s, the brothers began attending car auctions across New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut, purchasing vehicles, repairing them, and building a solid reputation for quality and honesty.

In 1985, a major milestone was reached when Jack and Rich purchased their first gas station at Avenue V and Coney Island Avenue. This would not have been possible without the unwavering support of their family. Their father, Elliott Nacmias, and older brother, Joseph Nacmias, helped put together the large sum of money needed for the purchase. From 1985 to 1988, Elliott worked alongside Jack and Rich every day, reconciling gas sales, preparing daily deposits, and supporting operations behind the scenes. Their mother, Francine Nacmias, also joined in — working part-time as a cashier, welcoming customers with warmth and enthusiasm, and embodying the spirit of a true family-run business.

Though Francine sadly passed away in 1988 at the age of 65, she left a lasting impact on the business. Elliott continued working with his sons well into his 90s, a true testament to his dedication and love for the family enterprise.

Over the years, Nacmias Auto expanded its footprint. Rich took the reins at the Brooklyn location, while Jack acquired a well-known repair shop in Breezy Point, operated for years by Al Lavoie. With Jack already a long-time Breezy Point resident, the transition was natural — and the shop became Nacmias and Sons Super Service, serving a new community while preserving the same values that built the business.

Today, Jack and Rich continue to operate both locations — now joined by the next generation: Joseph Nacmias, managing the Brooklyn shop, and James Nacmias, working alongside Jack in Breezy Point. Together, the family continues its commitment to personalized service, expert care, and honest work.
